Policies

Our policies, in plain language

Plain-language rules so every dog has a safe, happy stay.

Booking & confirmation

Bookings are made through your account on this site. When you send a request we check the dates, your dog’s profile and vaccination records. Once you are an approved client your bookings confirm right away if we have room.

Dogs staying with us for the first time come in for a free meet-and-greet before their first stay. We use it to see how your dog does with us and with the group, and we may suggest a different arrangement (a private yard, no group play) if that is what suits them.

We take bookings up to 180 days ahead, with at least 24 hours’ notice for boarding and 2 hours for daycare. Boarding stays are 130 nights; call us about anything longer. A booking is held for 48 hours while you pay the deposit; after that the dates are released.

We can decline or end a booking if we believe a dog is not safe or comfortable with us. If that happens before the stay you receive a full refund of anything paid.

Cancellations & changes

Boarding: cancel 7+ days before check-in for a full refund, 3-6 days for 50%, under 3 days no refund. No-shows are charged the deposit plus the first night. Daycare: cancel by 8pm the night before at no charge.

For boarding, refunds are worked out from the number of days between the day you cancel and the check-in date:

  • 7 or more days before check-in: full refund of everything paid.
  • 36 days before: 50% of the booking total is refunded.
  • Less than 3 days before, or a no-show: no refund. No-shows are charged the deposit plus the first night.

Daycare can be cancelled up to 20:00 the night before at no charge.

You can cancel from your booking page; the refund that applies is shown before you confirm. Refunds go back the way you paid within a few business days. Picking up early does not refund the unused nights, but we are glad to shift dates when we can and will not charge for that.

If we have to cancel (illness on the property, an emergency, weather that closes the road) you get a full refund and we will do our best to help you find another kennel.

Drop-off, pick-up & late fees

Boarding check-in is from 2pm on your first day and check-out is by 11am on your last day. Drop-off hours are Mon-Fri 7-9am & 4-7pm, Sat-Sun 9-11am & 4-6pm; pick-up hours are Mon-Fri 7-9am & 4-7pm, Sat-Sun 9-11am & 4-6pm. If you need a time outside those windows, ask when you book and we will usually make it work.

Pick-ups after check-out time have a 10 minutes grace period. After that we charge $15.00 for every 15 minutes or part of one. If your dog is still here at closing, we charge another night at your booked rate and they stay with us until the next drop-off window.

Daycare dogs collected after closing are charged the same late fee. Please call if you are running late; it does not remove the fee, but it means we are not worrying.

If a dog is not collected and we cannot reach you or your emergency contacts within 48 hours of the planned pick-up, we will keep caring for the dog and bill the additional nights, and we may involve local animal services to make sure the dog gets home.

Vaccinations & health

Every dog needs current Rabies, DHPP and Bordetella vaccinations for the whole stay, with the certificate uploaded to their profile before booking. We check the dates at drop-off. A dog whose vaccinations have lapsed cannot stay, and the cancellation policy applies.

  • Dogs must be on a flea and tick preventative and free of parasites. A dog arriving with fleas is treated at your cost.
  • Puppies must have finished their vaccination series before their first stay.
  • Dogs with a contagious illness (kennel cough, vomiting, diarrhoea, and so on) cannot stay until they are clear. Tell us if your dog has been unwell in the two weeks before a stay.
  • Intact dogs are welcome. Females in heat cannot join the daycare group and may not be able to board; check with us first.
  • Medications are given exactly as written on your dog’s profile and logged. We give pills, drops and creams but not injections.

If your dog becomes unwell with us we will tell you the same day.

Behaviour & aggression

Please be honest on your dog’s profile about bite history, food guarding, separation anxiety and how they are with other dogs. It does not mean we will say no; it means we can set things up so your dog does well.

  • Group play is a privilege, not a guarantee. Dogs are matched by size and temperament and we separate any dog that is not enjoying it or is making others uneasy.
  • If a dog is aggressive toward people or other dogs, we can end the stay early. You or your emergency contact will need to collect the dog, and the unused nights are not refunded.
  • You are responsible for injuries or damage your dog causes to people, other dogs or property, including vet bills for another guest.
  • We will not use force or punishment. If a dog cannot be handled safely we will stop, keep everyone apart and call you.

We record anything out of the ordinary (a scuffle, a refusal to eat) as a note on the booking, and you can read those notes on your booking page.

Emergency vet care

By booking you authorize us to get veterinary care for your dog if we believe it is needed. We will always try to reach you first, then your emergency contacts, then your own vet if they can see the dog. If nobody can be reached we go to the nearest available vet.

  • You can set a spending limit on your profile for treatment we may approve without reaching you. If it is blank, we use our judgement to keep the dog safe and comfortable.
  • You are responsible for all veterinary costs, including any transport, and you agree to reimburse us if we pay the clinic directly.
  • Keep your vet’s details and your emergency contacts up to date on your profile before every stay.

Photos & social media

We take photos and short videos of the dogs during the day and share them on your booking page. That is part of the service and you do not need to opt in.

We only post a dog on our social media or website if you have ticked photo consent on your profile. We never post your name, your dog’s full name with your surname, or anything that identifies where you live. You can withdraw consent at any time from your profile, and we will take down anything you ask us to.

Premium Cam camera terms

Watch your own dog in their kennel any time between 7am and 10pm while they stay with us.

  • The feed shows your own dog’s kennel only. You will never see another family’s dog, and other families never see yours.
  • Viewing hours are 7am-10pm. Outside those hours the feed is off so the dogs and the people here can rest.
  • The stream is live only. We do not record it, and there is no playback unless we say so in writing for a specific reason.
  • It is for you and your household. Please do not share your login or the stream, and do not record or post it publicly.
  • The camera goes live once your dog is checked in and stops at check-out. When dogs are out in the yard or on a walk the kennel will be empty, which is a good thing.
  • Cameras and rural internet sometimes drop. Short outages are not refunded. If the camera is unavailable for most of a stay we refund the add-on.
  • We may pause a feed for cleaning, maintenance or privacy of a staff member; it comes back as soon as we can.

Payment terms

  • A deposit of 25% of the booking total holds the dates. The balance is due at drop-off.
  • We accept Interac e-Transfer, crypto (BTC, USDC) and cash at drop-off.
  • e-Transfer: Send an Interac e-Transfer to the email above with your booking number in the message. Autodeposit is on, so no security question is needed.
  • Crypto: Send the CAD-equivalent amount to the address shown, then enter the transaction id so we can match it to your booking. We accept payments up to $5 short after network fees. A shortfall of up to $5.00 after network fees is fine.
  • Cash is welcome at drop-off; we will record it on your booking so you have a receipt.
  • HST at 13% is added to every booking.
  • Add-ons, extra nights, late fees and vet costs are added to your booking and due before or at pick-up.
  • Tips are never expected. If you leave one it goes to the people who cared for your dog.

Every payment and refund is listed on your booking page, which doubles as your receipt.

Food & belongings

Please bring your dog’s own food, portioned per meal if you can, and any medications in their original packaging. Changing food suddenly is the most common reason a dog gets an upset stomach with us. If you run out or forget, we can feed our house food for a small daily charge.

A blanket or a t-shirt that smells like home helps. Label anything you leave. Toys and bedding get chewed, washed and occasionally lost; we cannot replace personal items, so leave the valuable ones at home.

Your agreement

You accept these policies when you create an account, and again each time you make a booking. They apply to every dog on your account and to anyone who drops off or picks up for you. We can update them from time to time; the version on this page is the one in force, and changes never apply backwards to a stay that is already booked.

Questions about any of this: call (705) 555-0142 or send us a message. Our privacy notice covers what we keep about you and your dog.
